TritonVR2 Privacy Policy (Updated 20/4/2024)

Overview

"We" refers to Tetra Studios

"You" refers to the user.

"Game" refers to TritonVR2.

To get the most functionality out of the game, you may need to let the app access your spatial data, via the popup that appears on initial startup or through the Quest settings menu. This is only used for the purpose of gameplay, such as:

  1. Co-locating yourself to other users in the same playspace.

  2. Creating a map based off your provided real-world environment.

When you use these features, and you are hosting the match, necessary data (such as the size and position of the walls in the World Weaver mode) will be sent to all connected players. This data is not stored and is only used for the express purpose of gameplay, and is only sent to players connected to your session (see "Security of Personal Information" for more). All spatial data that the game uses is deleted after quitting.

When you use these features, Meta may collect information to make these services work. You can learn more about that here. We currently only process "Scene Data".

We also may access your Oculus User ID and User Profile during gameplay. This is used for the purpose of verifying if you have a legitimate copy of the game, and for allowing some Shared Spatial functionality to work.

If you choose to opt-in to GameAnalytics, your data is processed in accordance with their terms and conditions outlined here. Your gameplay experience will not be impacted at all if you choose to opt-out. If you have opted in and wish to opt-out, simply uninstall and reinstall the game, which will then give you the option to opt-out on startup.

If you use the Time Trial system (coming soon), then you will be required to consent the use of Epic Online Services (EOS). You can find more information about what information EOS collects here (privacy) and here (terms). Note that we use the following services: Connect, Leaderboards, Lobbies, Matchmaking, Peer-to, Peer, Player Data Storage, Title Storage, Stats and Achievements, Game Analytics, Progression Snapshot. If you choose not to agree to these terms, then you will be unable to play this mode. We do not collect any extra data than what is required for the service to work.

Tetra Studios is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Information. We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The NPPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information. A copy of the Australian Privacy Principles may be obtained from the website of The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.aoic.gov.au

This includes data you give us, as well as data collected automatically (see "What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?" for more info). This data is only used for functionality and analytical purposes. Tetra Studios will never sell your data to anyone for any reason.

What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?

Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. The information collected is done in three ways:

  1. The info you provide to us, like your username.

  2. Info that is automatically collected, such as analytical data generated through gameplay, your headset's device ID and/or IP address.

  3. Info that is collected by other parties.

In the case of TritonVR, this information is collected and processed through Epic Online Services. By using the functionality provided by Epic Online Services within TritonVR, you agree to the Epic Games privacy policy and terms and conditions. By playing online, you also agree to the Unity Services Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which is used for voicechat functionality. Without consenting to these services, the multiplayer components of the game will not be accessible, as well as other online functionality, such as leaderboards.

We collect your Personal Information for the sole purposes of providing our services to you and for improving the product. Your data will never be sold to anyone for any reason. When we collect Personal Information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.

Disclosure of Personal Information

Your Personal Information may be disclosed in a number of circumstances including the following:

•           Third parties where you consent to the use or disclosure; and

•           Where required or authorised by law.

Security of Personal Information

All data generated through Epic Online Services is stored on Epic Games's servers, and all data generated through Oculus's services are stored on Oculus servers. This includes analytical data as well as your TritonVR account data (such as your character's in-game level). Epic Games states that end-to-end encryption is used to protect game data when technically feasible, and sensitive analytics data will be treated as confidential (as outlined in this document). Likewise, Oculus's back-end servers use industry-standard TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 protocols to protect your data. Non-sensitive data, such as a local high score leaderboard, may be saved on the device being used. This means that your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.

Access to your Personal Information

You may access the Personal Information we hold about you and to update and/or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. If you wish to access your Personal Information, please contact us in writing.
